Steve DeZara, CEO of Luna Carpets and Flooring, co-led the recent acquisition of Galaxie, bringing more than 25 years of sales and executive management experience in the home improvement industry.
Beginning his career at Luna Flooring in 1985, Steve learned the business from the ground up…literally. Starting as an installer, and after many years honing his sales expertise, Steve led Luna through a remarkable growth transformation. Investing in proprietary technologies and automating business flow processes, through empowering employees to be entrepreneurial and accountable, and through the establishment of deep vendor and media relationships, Steve expanded Luna both within Chicago and geographically to four additional national markets.
Steve is a current Board Member of the Better Business Bureau of Illinois, and has earned numerous business awards, including two Torch Bearer awards from the BBB and Chicago’s Top Workplaces 2011, issued by the Chicago Tribune. Steve attended Drake University, concentrating on business and entrepreneurial management.
Joe Borczyk has over 25 years of experience in operations, personnel and vendor management, and has been involved in all facets of growing and managing mid-to-large size companies. Joe has managed operations for several companies including Tweeter Home Entertainment, Douglas TV, and most recently with Luna Flooring and Carpet, where Joe directed all of the company’s installation efforts and all merchandise buying programs. Joe also led Luna’s geographic expansion into Baltimore, Washington D.C., Boston and Milwaukee.
Joe brings a passion for finding creative solutions to complex problems and helping build solid foundations for growing companies. He has managed over 150+ employees and has experience in building corporate cultures, business processes, and vendor relationships to reach company goals and sustain long-term successful growth.
Joe has been active with several business and civic organizations, including the Better Business Bureau and the Chicago Bears franchise.
